Resurrecting Sounds: Adventures with an Old Cassette Recorder - Part 1
In sound design and very often within my music production, anything that makes a sound is a potential resource. When I say anything, I mean anything!
Lloytron V188 cassette recorder (1989?) |
This is an old cassette recorder that I bought back in the late 80s (1989?) for storing data from my long gone Alesis MMT-8 sequencer. The cassette recorder wasn't in great working order when I dug it out of the loft but, I cleaned it, fixed it up and now it's working just fine. This is great for me as I can now dive into my old cassette recordings and start pulling things out of them, in a very defunct, retro way.
There's another blog post about this on the way!
Roll the tape!!!
I don't know how old this cassette is - Probably mid to late 70s |
